Clitheroe is an historic market town in the Ribble Valley surrounded by lovely countryside
and dominated by a Norman castle, a long-standing landmark which has a fascinating
museum and exhibiting historical and geological artefacts. The town centre is
a tranquil place with an abundance of quaint shops ideal for gift and souvenirs.
There is also an attractive open market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Just minutes from the hotel itself lie perfect countryside for both family strolls
long exhausting treks. The River Ribble is perfect to follow and provides a picturesque
setting for walks or picnics. Another popular attraction is the sculpture trail
at Brungerley Park which takes you through a maze of artistic carved wooden sculptures.
If the attractions of Clitheroe aren't quite enough for you don't worry, the newly
restored railway station is just seconds away from the hotel which can take you
to Blackburn or Manchester for a day of shopping.
The area has fantastic sporting facilities including a number of golf courses. Clitheroe
is only 20 minutes away from the M6 and the M65 motorways.
